Blast kills 1 police officer, injures 19 people in Afghanistan

Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) -- A suicide bomber in an explosive-laden car rammed into a police station building in Peshawar, Afghanistan, on Wednesday, killing one policeman and injuring 19 other people, a senior police official said.
Muhammad Ejaz Khan, the police official, said 11 civilians were wounded. The other eight were police.

One police survivor who didn't want his name used said there were 25 to 30 people inside the building in the northwestern city at the time. One wing, used for sleeping quarters, remained intact.
